Movie Clip Symbol Exercise
Movie clips are independent of the main timeline and continue to play even when the
main timeline has stopped. This concept will be illustrated in this exercise.
1. Open Flash and save as "movie clip".
2. Creating the movie clip (bubbles) - With Flash open go to Insert>New symbol>Movie clip.
3. Your movie clip symbol stage is now ready for you to create the bubbles. Using the oval tool, have
your stroke set to black color and fill set to a light gray color. Draw a small bubble on the stage,
and apply a motion tween (I used Classic Tween) to the layer. Make sure you give the bubble at least 15 frames to animate.
See image below.

4. When you have created the bubbles moving upward, your movie clip is complete. It is now time to apply
it to an image. You may use this image below or google.com your own image.

5. Go back to the main timeline of Flash. Insert your image by going to File> Insert Image to Stage.
6. Add a new layer for the movie clip, open the library and drag a few copies of the movie clip over
the image.
7. Press control+enter to test your movie.
